We offer one volunteer opportunity in Tanzania. Our women’s empowerment volunteer program focuses on sustainable income through handcrafted work and eco-friendly fashion. The program enhances community lives through handicraft skills and entrepreneurship. 

You’ll get involved in a range of activities, including graphic design, social media management, and learning weaving skills. We’ll teach you how to weave, from translating patterns to using hand-operated machines. Plus, you can assist with other business tasks too. No specialised skills required – just bring your passion for making a difference!

Project activities on this volunteer program may include: 

• Assisting with creating handcrafted items: These may include fashion items, paper craft, bead craft, wood work, weaving and more. You’ll have the opportunity to learn multiple crafting skills.
• Supporting business activities: Support entrepreneurs with business activities related to their products, including but not limited to sales and marketing, social media, graphic design, product design and creative utilisation of leftover fabrics.
• Assisting entrepreneurs with ad-hoc tasks: This may include occasional construction projects.
• Skills development: Feel free to explore new areas where you may lack expertise. We encourage you to conduct online research to enhance your skills. You’ll then be able to apply your knowledge to your project activities, and share your learnings with the rest of the group.

Arusha’s weather varies throughout the year. January to early March tends to be hot and dry, followed by heavy rain from March to May with temperatures ranging between 24°C and 15°C. 

May to July brings cold weather and light rains, with July often being the coldest month. August to October sees temperatures rising again, reaching up to 30°C. November brings a short rainy season extending to mid-December, interspersed with sunny days.
